B2B enrichment platforms: APIs, datasets, and workflows

“Enrichment” can mean looking up a known person, resolving a company from a domain, adding contact details, or assembling a researched prospect list. Choose the job first. A provider that performs one of these well does not automatically cover the others.

Three buying models

ModelExamples to evaluateMain question
Direct data APIsPeople Data Labs, Crustdata, ProfileGlideCan the API resolve your inputs and return your required fields?
Business datasetsCoresignal, MixRankDoes the licensed dataset cover your population, freshness, and delivery needs?
Enrichment workflowsClay, ClearbitDoes the workflow integrate with your existing sales and CRM process?

These examples describe product positioning, not a universal ranking. Confirm the exact current product, contract, and supported fields with each provider.

Match inputs before comparing outputs

A LinkedIn URL, a work email, a domain, and a name-plus-company query are different starting points. A provider may accept some and not others. Record ambiguous matches as ambiguous; do not count a plausible person as a correct match without validation.

ProfileGlide’s current profile and company enrichment actions use LinkedIn-compatible identifiers. Its people search takes a keyword string. It does not implement an email-finder waterfall, arbitrary domain-to-person resolution, or natural-language targeting filters. These boundaries matter when replacing an enrichment workflow.

Evaluate the full record lifecycle

Define how your application merges updates into an existing CRM record. Decide whether a missing field means “not available” or “delete the previous value.” Preserve identifiers and timestamps so you can audit why a record changed.

Test a sparse record, a changed employer, and a company with multiple offices. Track field correctness separately from match rate and request success. A technically successful response can still be unusable for your business rule.

Budget with like-for-like units

Dataset licenses, workflow credits, lookups, and returned records cannot be compared by their names alone. For ProfileGlide, a full profile costs 20 credits while a returned company or search row costs 1. A workload of 500 full profiles and 2,000 companies therefore needs 12,000 credits, before considering other actions.

If you need verified email addresses, phone coverage, CRM routing, or bulk exports, include those requirements and their costs explicitly. They are not implied by “full profile.” See the detailed coverage matrix and pricing rules.
